Are you still using Internet Explorer?
It may be time to find a new web browser. Microsoft will be ending support for Internet Explorer on August 17th, 2021. Microsoft products like Outlook, OneDrive, etc., will stop supporting the browser. Internet Explorer on the Microsoft Teams web app will end support on November 30th, 2020.
Microsoft ending support for Internet Explorer means they will no longer provide security updates. This could leave you vulnerable to hackers. To prevent security issues we recommend you find a new web browser.
Microsoft is encouraging customers to use Microsoft Edge as their new web browser. Microsoft Edge has two versions. Microsoft Edge Legacy is the old, HTML-based version of Microsoft Edge. Some companies may use this for IT when precise wording is needed. However, support for Microsoft Edge Legacy will end on March 9th, 2021. The newer version of Microsoft Edge is Chromium-based. Google Chrome and Amazon Silk are also built on Chromium. Luckily The newer version of Microsoft Edge has no “end of support” date in sight. Microsoft Edge is automatically installed on Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.
The Miller Group suggests businesses that are still using Internet Explorer to make the switch to a new web browser. We suggest using Microsoft’s new browser, Microsoft Edge, or Google Chrome. Inform your employees about the end of support dates so that they have enough time to comfortably make the switch.
