Local Intensive Care Rehab Center – Tenant to Tenant 365 Migration

Tenant to Tenant 365 Migration

A tenant-to-tenant 365 migration is the process of transferring users, mailboxes, data, and configurations from one Microsoft 365 tenant to another.

The Problem

This local Intensive Care Rehab Center’s Microsoft 365 environment currently resides within a shared tenant, limiting control, security, and flexibility. The existing setup under the Office 365 E3 licensing lacks several advanced security and compliance tools, requiring additional third-party solutions like CrowdStrike for endpoint protection. This fragmented environment creates inefficiencies in management, security coverage, and overall IT spend.

The Solution

The Miller Group (TMG) will migrate the local Intensive Care Rehab Center’s Entra accounts and data to a new, stand-alone Microsoft 365 tenant. The process includes:

  • Setting up the new tenant with Microsoft 365 Business Premium licenses to enable advanced security features.

  • Migrating files, emails, and computer profiles from the current environment.

  • Implementing MFA with Conditional Access, data loss prevention (DLP), and sensitivity labels via Microsoft Purview.

  • Completing post-migration tasks such as 365 backup and administrative changes.
Additionally, Defender for Endpoint will replace existing CrowdStrike licenses, consolidating security tools within the Microsoft ecosystem.

The Result

By separating into a dedicated tenant and upgrading to Microsoft 365 Business Premium, this Intensive Care Rehab Center will:

  • Gain enhanced control and protection over its data.

  • Benefit from a more secure, compliant, and streamlined Microsoft 365 environment.

  • Eliminate redundant third-party tools while maintaining approximately the same licensing cost.

  • Achieve a smoother, more efficient IT management experience supported by TMG’s ongoing monitoring and post-migration support.
